The 100 series finale airs tonight, and the showrunner is teasing the potential return of some characters. Jasper, perhaps?

The final season of The 100 has been…interesting, to say the least. It’s not how I imagined the show winding down, and there have been parts that have disappointed me. It just hasn’t given me the “oomph” I crave from this show, and of course, that character death didn’t sit quite right.

However, all in all, the show has been one hell of a ride. From the moment Imagine Dragon’s “Radioactive” started to blast in the background as the 100 first set foot on Earth, the show has had a solid run. And it all comes to an end tonight as The 100 airs its series finale, “The Last War.”

After reading through showrunner Jason Rothenberg’s interview with TVLine, I’m semi-hopeful.He teased some “surprise guests” on the way, which is interesting. The list of people I’d love to see pop up in the series finale is long, but my top pics are Thelonious Jaha (Isaiah Washington) and Jasper (Devon Bostick). I don’t care how they’re brought back, or how ridiculous it is, I just hope it happens.

"We’re going to try and wrap up as many things as we can. It’s a finale — and it’s a series finale on top of that — so there will be some surprise guests. Fans can have expectations of a certain scope and scale that I feel we’ve always been able to achieve in these finales."

“The Last War” will mark Rothenberg’s directorial debut, which is exciting by itself. I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner, but I’m glad he finally gets a chance to do it here at the end. Better late than never, right?

I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about The 100 as we head into the final hour. Honestly, the final season has sort of eased the pain of saying goodbye because it hasn’t lived up to my expectations, but when a beloved show ends, it’s always hard.

Here’s hoping that the final hour is filled with surprises, a terrific battle, and whatever a happy ending looks like for the mighty warriors of The 100.
