Lego is giving us a new Baby Yoda set–this is the way, indeed!
Baby Yoda is the cure to our worst day because the sight of him sparks this Marie Kondo-esque joy within our hearts. I don’t know if it’s just seeing Yoda species as a baby or if its those adorable, big eyes, but something about this character just warms our hearts and souls.
This is why I was beyond excited to learn that Lego is coming out with a Baby Yoda set at the end of October. With around 1,073 pieces, you will be able to build the most adorable creature to have ever graced the Star Wars universe. Currently, Amazon is taking pre-orders and with just a few clicks, the Baby Yoda set can be yours for $79.99.
A bit steep, that’s for sure. But can we really put a price on such cuteness?
We can credit the design manager of Lego Star Wars, Michael Lee Stockwell, for bringing this Baby Yoda’s Lego set to life, who spent a lot of time bringing it to life–brick by brick.
"“When I received the challenge to create a Lego brick-built version of the Child, I knew that I had to get it just right,” Stockwell said via a press release. “The goal was to capture the charm, and above all, the cuteness of the character, so we worked meticulously, choosing and placing each and every brick. We even included authentic details like the gearstick knob — a favorite toy of the Child, as seen in the series.”"
If that’s not dedication, I don’t know what is, folks.
Now for some details on this Lego set. It stands at about 7.8 inches (20 centimeters) tall and comes with a posable head, ears that you can move around, and an adjustable mouth. Yes, that’s right, an adjustable mouth. You can give Baby Yoda all sorts of expressions including his infamous sly one when he knows he’s done something naughty.
The release of this Lego set coincides with the season 2 premiere of The Mandalorian on Disney+ so it’s safe to say, Oct. 30 will be quite the glorious day–and we can’t wait for it!
