David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker star in Doctor Who VR game

It’s every Doctor Who fan’s dream come true: a virtual reality game starring David Tennant’s Tenth and Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor!

It’s safe to say most Whovians have imagined a team-up of their favorite Doctors at one point or another. Like, wouldn’t it be great to see David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker come together for a Doctor Who episode?!

The possibility of that happening is slim. However, these two are coming together for a Doctor Who virtual reality video game!

According to Comicbook.com, Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality will come out sometime next year, following up on 2019’s VR game Doctor Who: The Edge of Time. This “compelling first-person adventure” is going to introduce new worlds, new threats, and new gameplay. Couple that with appearances from Tennant and Whittaker and you’ve got a Doctor Who game that can’t miss!

The official press release breaks down the game in more detail, but at first glance, the words “Daleks,” “Cybermen” and “Weeping Angels” stand out immediately. I mean, come on, a virtual reality game where you face down these iconic villains? Has anything cooler ever been created…or scarier?

You also get to hang on to the Thirteenth Doctor’s sonic screwdriver, which seals the deal.

The company behind this game, Maze Theory, is also creating a mobile game that will release in spring 2021. Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins is a whirlwind adventure that pits players against the franchise’s most frightening foes: the Weeping Angels.

"A sinister series of events taking place at Wester Drumlins, the iconic ‘uninhabited’ home featured in the legendary Doctor Who episode Blink. Someone is missing and a menacing new nemesis has emerged. Players will work with Petronella Osgood and other classic characters as they get steadily closer to the truth. There is only one rule: don’t turn your back, don’t look away and don’t blink!"
