Tom Felton (Draco) planning Harry Potter cast reunion to celebrate milestone

The first Harry Potter film is almost 19 years old, and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) wants to get the gang back together to celebrate.

How has it been 19 years since the very first Harry Potter film? I was a student then, and the world was most certainly a different place. It’s bizarre to think so much time has passed, but yet here we are, almost two decades later.

Hoping to celebrate this milestone is Tom Felton, who played the vile Draco Malfoy. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Felton revealed that he wants to do something with some of the original cast members, many of whom he still hangs out with and talks to on a frequent basis. Yes, that includes Emma Watson — the two of them have been shipped for a long time by Harry Potter fans, including me.

"I saw the Weasley twins the other day. We went out to play some golf. Always chatting with a lot of the other guys on WhatsApp and staying in touch with them and making sure everything’s alright. It’s been nice because it’s the 19-year anniversary on November 14, so I’m planning some sort of digital celebration… I’m trying to wrangle all the oldies back together again to celebrate the achievement really."

The movies themselves are indeed an achievement, as is the fact that this cast is still friends after all these years. You don’t always see that in other franchises, so I love that these guys remain this close.

We’ll have to sit tight and find out if Tom Felton can truly pull off this Harry Potter reunion. In the meantime, you can check him out in Netflix’s A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting. He plays a villain, of course:

"I had so much fun doing it really. They kind of gave me quite a lot of creative licenses to sort of go as crazy as I wanted to. As soon as I started getting trinkets tied in my hair and bags of children teeth attached to my belt, I was loving it and it was impossible to be Tom, really, when you’re in the outfit. There’s no walking around, you’re sort of sauntering everywhere and dancing and gliding around the set."

Check back here for more updates on this potential Harry Potter reunion. It might not go down exactly the way we’d want, but us Potterheads will take what we can get!
