Marvel is talking to Star Wars veteran Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) to play the superhero Moon Knight in an upcoming Disney+ series!

There are a lot of original Marvel series coming to Disney+. Right now, WandaVisionThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki are making the most waves, but there are plenty more on the backburner, including HawkeyeShe-Hulk and Ms. Marvel.

And then there’s Moon Knight, who is kind of like Marvel’s version of Batman. Marc Spector is a mercenary who has a number of alter egos, including cabbie Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant. Sometimes he’s a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, sometimes he’s a consultant who dresses in white and goes by the name Mr. Knight. Whatever he’s doing in his off-hours, when night falls, he’s out there fighting crime.

Now, Deadline reports that Disney is courting none other than Oscar Issac to play the character. Isaac, of course, played Poe Dameron in Disney’s recent Star Wars sequels. If he took this gig, he’d be moving from one huge franchise to another.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Slater is signed on to lead the Moon Knight writing team. Slater developed The Umbrella Academy for Netflix. That show is great, so it’s a good hire.

Development on these series has stalled this year thanks to COVID-19, but clearly, things are picking back up again. This time in a couple years, we’ll be awash in Marvel shows.

Next. Samuel L. Jackson will play Nick Fury in a new Disney+ series. dark
