Spider-Man 3 star Jacob Batalon is back on set with a whole new look

Spider-Man star Jacob Batalon (Ned) is back on set for the upcoming third movie, and looking a bit different than the last time we saw him.

Jacob Batalon, who plays Peter Parker’s goofy BFF Ned Leeds in the new Spider-Man movies, is all set to get to work on the upcoming third film alongside star Tom Holland. Things have been moving forward on that front, with the cast gathering for what promises to be a very exciting follow-up to Far From Home.

Batalon is the latest to get back to work, but if you take a peek at his Instagram, you’ll notice that something looks very different about him. And that would be because he’s reportedly lost nearly 100 pounds ahead of the third movie!

You know, I was watching Quibi’s 50 States of Fright (probably the only person in the world that was still watching Quibi shows). Jacob Batalon popped up in The Shining inspired episodes, and I thought something was different.

But seeing his Instagram post below made me realize he lost even more weight since then. I don’t know what Ned is going through in Spider-Man 3, but apparently he really slims down.

Batalon had even posted a picture of himself dressed up as Ned on his Insta stories, although the pic has since disappeared. Happily, the internet never forgets:

And he’s pretty excited about the movie in general:

I’m very excited about whatever the third movie has in store for us. Not only is there something going on with Ned Leeds, but Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange is a part of it, not to mention Jamie Foxx reprising the role of Electro. There are even rumblings that former Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield may show up.

Given that the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel deals with the multi-verse, smart money is that Spider-Man 3 will as well; that’s the only way we can think of that actors like Foxx, Maguire and Garfield may come back. Just imagine the possibilities!

The next movie, which doesn’t have a subtitle as of yet, is due out December 17, 2021. We’ll just have to wait until then to find out the answers to these mysteries, or wait for Tom Holland to inevitably reveal something he shouldn’t.
