The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda go boating in the next episode, “Chapter 10”

We look way too hard at the synopsis for the next episode of The Mandalorian and puzzle out which OTHER Star Wars legacy characters are going to turn up:

The Mandalorian came back into our lives last week with the first episode of its second season: “The Marshall,” wherein Mando and Baby Yoda teamed up with Tatooine lawman Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) to take down a fearsome a Krayt dragon.

It was as good as anything in the first season, a standalone adventure that still connected to the wider universe and set up story arcs to come, particularly with [REDACTED] showing up at the end there.

And it looks like things are going to keep cruising along with the next episode, “Chapter 10.” Take a look at the synopsis:

"The Mandalorian must ferry a passenger with precious cargo on a risky journey."

It’s a predictably vague teaser, but it does match up with some of the stuff we’ve seen in the trailers. For example, there have been shots of Mando and Baby Yoda on a boat as well as them at a bustling dock. The odds are good those give us a glimpse of “Chapter 10.”

Speaking of the dock, there’s also this shot of a mysterious woman watching Mando and Baby Yoda (we assume) from the shadows:

We’ve long wondered who this woman is, and although we’re still not 100% certain, at this point we’re willing to make an educated guess.

Okay, our bet is that this woman is the Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren. Wren, who was first introduced on the animated show Star Wars Rebels (which was overseen by Dave Filoni, who’s also the showrunner on The Mandalorian) has been rumored to show up in season 2 for a while. We know that Mando is looking for other Mandalorians who might be able to help him locate Baby Yoda’s people, and Sabine Wren is a well-known Mandalorian who helped free her home planet from the grip of the Empire during the events of the original movie trilogy.

Perhaps she’s heard about Mando’s quest, perhaps they meet by happenstance, or perhaps they meet up for another reason, but we’re pretty sure they’re going to meet up.

At the end of Rebels, Sabine Wren took off for the far reaches of the galaxy with ex-Jedi Ahsoka Tano, another character heavily rumored to turn up on The Mandalorian this season, where she’ll be played by Rosario Dawson. They may save Ahsoka’s appearance for later in the season, though.

As for who will play Sabine, our bet is on professional wrestler Sasha Banks, who we’ve heard will turn up this year. (I know, there are a lot of rumors involved here, but the one about Timothee Olyphant playing Cobb Vanth turned out to be true. Now we watch the dominoes fall.)

We’ll find out whether this all comes together when “Chapter 10” airs this Friday on Disney+…at 3:00 a.m.

Why you gotta do that to us, Disney?
