Kat Dennings, who played Darcy Lewis in the Thor movies, hasn’t been in the MCU for a while, but that’s about to change in the “wild” WandaVision.

Despite the first Thor film including some well-known stars, like Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings, their characters have been mostly absent from the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe. But with Portman’s Jane Foster returning in Thor: Love and Thunder (and wielding Odin’s hammer, no less), fans have begun asking if Kat Dennings’ Darcy Lewis — a research assistant working for Foster and Erik Selvig in the Thor movies — will show up again. And the actress has hinted that she has a role to play in the MCU…just not in the story you’d think.

While there’s no suggestion that Dennings will be around in Thor 4, she will appear in WandaVision, the first of several Marvel TV shows debuting on Disney+. The actress told Entertainment Tonight that she was surprised by her character’s role. “I almost thought it’d just be a scene or something, I didn’t realize what it was,” Dennings said. “Anyone who liked Darcy in the movies will be thrilled.”

Sadly, the actress couldn’t dig further into exactly what role she’ll play. But with WandaVision expected to drop this December, fans won’t have to wait too much longer to find out.

Dennings couldn’t offer fans much about the fourth Thor film either, outside of the fact that she probably isn’t in it. “I feel like I would have heard by now,” she said. “I have no idea. I have less of an idea than I did before.”

That seems to be all of us this year! Either way, it’s nice to know we’ll get to see Jane’s funny, intelligent best friend again. The MCU could use more women like her, and she’s definitely a welcome addition to WandaVision.

WandaVision looks like it’s going to be like no MCU story before it, a strange mix of superheroics with classic sitcom tropes. And how is Vision even alive? Didn’t he die in Avengers: Infinity War?

Star Teyonah Parris couldn’t give away specifics, but she does promise that the show is as weird and interesting as it looks.

“I’m very grateful to be a part of this universe and Monica Rambeau is such a badass,” Parris told The Undefeated. “She’s such a badass in the comics and I just can’t even believe that this is happening. This is full-on action movie, mixed with sitcoms. It’s wild. It’s wild. I think people are gonna be very, very excited.”

Monica Rambeau is the daughter of Maria Rambeau, Carol Danvers’ best friend in Captain Marvel. Monica was a chil in that movie, but she’s grown up in WandaVision, although we don’t yet know how she factors into the story.

“That has been a childhood dream, to be a Marvel superhero,” Parris said. “When the MCU opened up, I think I was in college and then I was like, ‘Oh, I want to be a Marvel superhero.’ I remember being in college — or right out of school, I can’t remember — and going to see Iron Man and seeing women who would kick ass in these kinds of movies.”

Not long now.

Next. Natalie Portman to play her "own version" of Thor. dark
