The Night King actor trolls Trump over refusal to concede election
By Dan Selcke
Donald Trump is refusing to concede the 2020 election, claiming he won “by a lot.” It’s a tough case to make, but at least the Night King has his back.
Over the weekend, various news organizations — including the Associated Press, Fox News and many others — projected that former vice president Joe Biden would win the 2020 presidential election over incumbent President Donald Trump. At this point, it looks like Biden got 290 electoral votes to Trump’s 214, and although both of those figures will likely rise as more states finish their counts, Biden crossed the 270 electoral vote threshold needed to be president, not to mention winning the popular vote by four million votes and counting.
Normally, this would be the time for the outgoing president to concede the race, congratulate the winner, and start cooperating with them to ensure a peaceful and efficient transfer of power…but during his time in office, Donald Trump has rarely done things normally. So instead we got this:
Kay.
Biden and vice president elect Kamala Harris have already given speeches celebrating their victory and laid out plans to tackle issues like the worsening coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, Trump is mounting legal challenges, trying to get votes thrown out in some states or added in others, depending on how he did there. It’s fully his right to challenge the legality of the results, but considering that experts are saying they’re unlikely to do anything and that even members of his family are advising him to concede, it all looks a little desperate and deluded.
But hey, being desperate and deluded isn’t a crime. And Trump has some good company. For example, he has the support of Game of Thrones star Vladimír Furdík, who played the malevolent Night King, leader of the White Walkers. We all saw Arya Stark kill the Night King in the final season of the show, but Furdík sees it differently:
If it’s in all caps, it must be true, right?
Well trolled, Furdík. Well trolled.
