The Eighth Doctor begins an uneasy alliance in The Enemy of My Enemy – the latest story released as part of the epic Doctor Who event Time Lord Victorious!

Events are steadily building towards All Flesh is Grass, the major Time Lord Victorious novel featuring the Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Doctors that will be released next month. Last month’s novel The Knight, The Fool and the Dead showed the buildup to that story from Ten’s perspective, as he prepares to make a very dangerous choice – one that two of his previous selves will want to stop. But what will lead the Eighth Doctor to that moment?

That’s a question that today’s brand new audio release, The Enemy of My Enemy, looks set to answer. Last month saw the beginning of Eight’s storyline with He Kills Me, He Kills Me Not, in which Eight met the rather unusual assassin Brian the Ood.

During that story, he also noticed that history was starting to go wrong, before finding himself captured by the Daleks. Initially, it doesn’t look good. But could his oldest enemies help him to find the answer to what’s going wrong with time? Especially when they encounter a race that shouldn’t exist?

The Daleks had previously allied with the Tenth Doctor in Time Lord Victorious comic story Defender of the Daleks. Will they have more luck with his Eighth self?

New allies

Tracy Ann Baines reveals what we can expect from the latest Time Lord Victorious story.

"The Enemy of My Enemy pits the Doctor against his greatest foe, the Daleks, yet not all is as it seems as the Doctor and the Daleks are forced to work together to solve the mystery of a time anomaly and contact with a civilisation that should never have existed."

Having the Doctor join forces with the Daleks isn’t often explored in Doctor Who. Having said that, Time Lord Victorious explored a similar storyline with the Tenth Doctor in Titan’s comic book mini-series, Defender of the Daleks. Ten’s brief alliance with the Daleks didn’t end well. Will his earlier self have more luck? Spoiler alert: no. But that doesn’t stop Paul McGann from being really happy about it.

"Teaming the Eighth Doctor up with the Daleks has been the greatest thrill of my life. It’s made everything worthwhile."

You can order Doctor Who – Time Lord Victorious: The Enemy of My Enemy on CD and download right now directly from Big Finish’s website, either on its own or as part of a bundle, containing three full-cast stories for the Eighth Doctor and two narrated Short Trips for the Master.
