The Mandalorian: 5 Easter Eggs you may have missed in “The Heiress”
The return of Bo-Katan Kryze
We learned months ago that Battlestar Galactica vet Katee Sackhoff would be appearing in The Mandalorian season 2. Since she played Mandalorian warrior Bo-Katan Kryze on the animated show Star Wars: The Clone Wars (and a few episodes of Star Wars Rebels), it made sense that she would play the live-action version of the character as well. And she did!
Kryze and two other Mandalorians rescue Mando and the Child from the Quarrens and the Mamacore. One of them is played by professional wrestler Sasha Banks, who appeared briefly as a mysterious hooded figure in trailers and sparked many a fan theory. She plays Koska Reeves and is credited by her real name, Mercedes Varnado.

The other Mandalorian is Axe Woves, played by Simon Kassianides. These two don’t talk as much as Kryze, though.
The show does an amazing job of bringing Kryze’s armor from the animated shows to life. The time it must have taken to get every little detail right is much appreciated, and will leave observant Star Wars fans satisfied.
By the end of the episode, it’s revealed that Kryze is hunting Moff Gideon for stealing the Darksaber, an ancient Mandalorian weapon that symbolizes authority and respect within their culture. The last time Bo-Katan had the saber was when Sabine Wren gave it to her in Star Wars Rebels.
The big question is: how did Gideon get his hands on the Darksaber in the first place? It looks like we’re building to a huge fight between the Imperial officer and Kryze. Hopefully, Mando will aid Kryze in taking down Gideon.
