Daisy Ridley (Rey) talks about whether she’ll ever return to that galaxy far, far away, the ending to The Rise of Skywalker, and Baby Yoda’s bottomless appetite.

It’s the question everyone’s talking about…but we’ll get to that in a bit. First, an update on the possibility of actor Daisy Ridley reprising her role of Rey in the Star Wars universe.

Asked about whether she might return to the galaxy far, far away in an interview with IGN, the 28-year-old replied: “I think for me the beauty of Episode IX is it ends with such hope and such potential. I just feel like that was Rey’s perfect ending. The big battle was in Episodes VII, VIII, and IX. I think really she’s probably running around the forest somewhere having a great time [after the events of The Rise of Skywalker].”

So it sounds like Ridley isn’t eager to return, but Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford were out of the game for a while too before The Force Awakens came along, and John Boyega (Finn) has hinted he’d consider coming back if the circumstances were right, so you never know.

“I feel totally, totally satisfied with how that story finished,” Ridley continued. “I just don’t know what else she could do that I didn’t have to do. Also, there are so many amazing characters in Star Wars, that it’s sort of an amazing thing. I was watching the new episode of Mandalorian, and it’s just like the places it can go beyond even where it is now is so exciting.”

Speaking of Mando, let’s confront this head-on: A storm is brewing in the outer reaches of the galaxy and, just like the end of Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia, it’s all about the frogs. Frogspawn, to be precise, and wee little middle-aged Baby Yoda’s ruthless consumption of them.

That’s right, after being asked to take care of these eggs by the trusting Frog Lady, the little tyke couldn’t control himself, chowing down on the last of Frog Lady’s lineage. Naturally, this was a huge deal, with some finding it funny — you know, because it’s Baby Yoda — and others canceling the alien child for trying to consume the last of the species.

And what did Ridley think? “Oh, cancel culture,” Ridley joked. “Look, Mando’s gotta eat, Yoda’s got to get strong. That’s just that. I’m like, ‘Yoda, do your thing.’ The creature [Frog Lady] got to be where she needed to be with the eggs. It’s all good. It was beautiful.”

Beautiful and delicious.
