The Mandalorian: 5 Easter eggs you may have missed in “The Believer”
The newest episode of The Mandalorian pulls from the Star Wars video games, the prequel trilogy, Game of Thrones, and more! Let’s dive in.
This week’s episode of The Mandalorian, “Chapter 15: The Believer,” wasn’t as emotionally taxing as last week’s, but it was a needed breather, almost like a calm before the storm. Mando and friends rescue Migs Mayfeld (Bill Burr) from prison and head to Morak to track down Moff Gideon and save Grogu. Boba Fett also cleaned up his armor, and it’s looking pretty good!
This episode featured a callback to a previous episode, another Jango Fett reference, and another appearance from a Game of Thrones actor! Did you catch all of these Easter eggs? If not, we’re all over it!

Dressing up as Stormtroopers
It’s a Star Wars tradition for our heroes to dress up as Stormtroopers to infiltrate Imperial outposts and facilities. Luke and Han did it when they rescued Leia in the Death Star. Jyn and Cassian did it to get the Death Star plans in Rogue One. Finn and Rose tried to shut down the lightspeed tracker on the Supremacy in The Last Jedi. Now, Mando and Mayfeld dress up as Stormtroopers to get into the refinery on Morak.
While we appreciate the nod to previous films, this also made for some tense moments later on in the episode. After Mando and Mayfeld deliver the rhydonium, they seek out a terminal to get Moff Gideon’s coordinates. However, the terminal uses facial recognition, and Mayfeld can’t remove his helmet because an officer he used to work with — Valin Hess — might recognize him.
In a shocking turn of events, Mando takes off his helmet, since no one’s going to recognize his face. But the duo gets caught anyway. This had me on the edge of my seat, and it was fun to see a different take on this classic Star Wars trope, especially since we got to see Pedro Pascal’s face again.
It seems like Mayfeld might hold this over Mando if they ever meet again. This could also be the first step to Mando feeling comfortable showing his face, which is good for everyone.
