Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) expects to be on Ahsoka Tano spinoff show

The Mandalorian will soon be one of three shows all telling the same story, and star Pedro Pascal expects to appear on all of ’em.

Last week, Disney announced that it was making approximately one thousand new Star Wars series (actually there are nine, but that’s still a lot), including a series all about Ahsoka Tano, the ex-Jedi played by Rosario Dawson in a recent episode of The Mandalorian.

The Ahsoka episode, “The Jedi,” was one of the best of the show so far, so most fans are pretty excited by that news. And the series could see guest appearances by some friendly faces (well, friendly faces covered in masks, anyway). Speaking to ComicBook.comThe Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal (Din Djarin) made it sound all but inevitable that he would turn up at some point.

“Man, fingers crossed,” Pascal said, opining that his character “has to be” in the spinoff. “How could he not, ya know? This is something that’s so bigger than all of us… and we’re all a passenger to it in a great way. I find out as it is decided and shared.”

Actually, it’s likely Pascal will show up in more than one Star Wars spinoff. The Mandalorian, the Ahsoka show, and another series called Rangers of the New Republic will all take place around the same time, be interrelated, and culminate in some kind of “story event,” according to Disney. Based on the cliffhanger to “The Jedi,” we can guess that Star Wars villain Grand Admiral Thrawn may tie some of the shows together.

There are also two new Star Wars movies on the way, including Rogue Squadron, helmed by Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins. Pascal plays villain Max Lord in Wonder Woman 1984, but his director didn’t clue him in. “She told me something was coming and she didn’t tell me what,” he said. “How dare she not tell me?”

That said, he wouldn’t trade in his time on Wonder Woman for anything. “They could have been asked me to play a piece of furniture,” he said. “Charles Roven, the producer, I was working with at the time and he’s a powerhouse of a man and has taken such good care of me. And then Patty, I’m a fan from the very, very first movie, to what she’s done on TV, the first Wonder Woman movie and so, for an actor to get to work with her it doesn’t get better, really. I mean it.”

Wonder Woman 1984 lands on both HBO Max and in theaters on Christmas Day. As for the Ahsoka show, stay tuned.
