Barack Obama reveals the TV he’s watched this year, and the cast and crew members can barely contain their excitement!

President Barack Obama has always loved all things pop culture. We’re talking about the guy who asked the Game of Thrones producers if he could watch season 6 early back in the day…and got to. Clearly, he likes a good TV show.

Obama recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his new memoir A Promised Land, and explained how television provided a break for him whenever he needed it. And during those breaks, he’s watched some pretty quality shows:

"Better Call Saul, because of its great characters and examination of the dark side of the American dream. The Good Place — it’s a wise and sweet combination of goofy comedy and big philosophical questions. And Watchmen and The Boys, for how they turn superhero conventions on their heads to lay bare issues of race, capitalism, and the distorting effects of corporate power and mass media. Oh, and the NBA playoffs — because it’s hoops!"

Naturally, the casts and crew of some of these shows took to social media to share their excitement that President Obama has seen their work. And let me tell ya, some of these reactions are adorable.

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke was beyond excited to learn that his show was a presidential favorite. Maybe he’ll ask Obama to make a cameo appearance in the upcoming third season, which is set to begin filming in early 2021. The Obamas are getting more into media of late, after all.

Jack Quaid, who plays the goofy Hughie Campbell on The Boys, also shared his enthusiasm:

Antony Starr, who plays the vile Homelander, was hilariously overwhelmed, and perhaps slightly embarrassed, cause know he knows Obama do…all of that.

The Good Place cast members Jameela Jamil (Tahani) and D’Arcy Carden (Janet) joined in the celebration:

Once again, President Obama loves his pop culture; he even held a screening at the White House for Star Wars: Force Awakens while he was still in office. So it comes as no surprise whatsoever that he’s just like the rest of us, binge-watching one incredible television show at a time.

Next. Robert Downey Jr. has “done all I could” with Iron Man. dark
