Check out the trailer for Superman & Lois
By Dan Selcke
The CW drops a motion comic-y teaser trailer for Superman & Lois, the first live-action Superman show to come around in a long while.
Okay, this may not be a trailer in the traditional sense, but it’s as close as The CW has come to giving us a glimpse of its new Superman show, Superman & Lois, all about the Man of Steel’s domestic life with his family in Smallville, with Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch reprising their roles as Clark Kent and Lois Lane after several appearances in other Arrowverse shows.
Be forewarned: the trailer has a pretty subtle visual metaphor. See if you can catch it:
The fibers of our being? And there are a bunch of fibers in the trailer? Brilliant!
But seriously, the show will focus on Superman’s family, with he and Lois raising two boys — Jonathan (Jordan Elsass) and Jordan (Alexander Garfin) who may or may not have inherited their dad’s powers. Because they’re back in Smallville, characters like Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui), Clark’s first love, can also come into the picture, now with her own child, Sarah (Inde Navarrette).
There hasn’t been a live-action Superman show on the air since Smallville ended in 2011. If the title didn’t make it obvious, that show was also set in Smallville, so maybe we can think of Superman & Lois as a kind of continuation.
Superman & Lois premieres on The CW on February 23.
