Harry Potter fans have wanted a reunion project with the original cast for years. Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), at least, would “never say never.”

Rupert Grint, forever known to Potterheads as Ron Weasley, has long since moved on to other things, like starring in Apple TV+’s Servant. But Harry Potter fans will never forget his time as the Boy Who Lived’s best friend. There have been plenty of rumors over the years of a reunion project. Most fans know it’s unlikely, but in a world where the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child exists, it’s not impossible. After all, that play catches us up with Ron, Harry and Hermione as adults. If you were to make a movie, who better to play them than the now-grown up cast of the original films?

Grint, at least, hasn’t completely written off the idea of a reunion. “I mean, never say never,” he told ComicBook.com. “I would never say, ‘Absolutely no.’ It was a huge part of my life and I’m very fond of that character and their stories. So yeah, I mean, I’d be up for it at the right time. I don’t know what capacity that would be, but yeah, we’ll see.

Okay, so we have Rupert Grint on board, technically. Now we need to find a way to convince a studio, other original cast members, and a creative team to take on the project! Easy enough, right?

While we wait anxiously for the impossible to happen, you can check out Rupert Grint in the upcoming second season of Apple TV+’s odd and strange horror mystery series Servant, premiering on January 15.

“We filmed this season in kind of two halves really, because of the pandemic,” Grint noted. And during the time between, he had a major life event: “I had the baby during the kind of down period when we were in lockdown and came back with the baby for the, for the second part. So it was, yeah, it’s very strange. It definitely has kind of changed my perspective on things but also in a helpful way…it was something I never really had much of an idea of, it was that kind of love…”
