AMC teases The Walking Dead season 10 bonus episodes

Before the show’s final run, we’re getting bonus episodes of The Walking Dead season 10, and AMC has released another teaser to get fans excited.

The Walking Dead will end with the upcoming 11th season. But before that, we’re getting six extra episodes of season 10, and AMC has just dropped a teaser with some new dialogue:

The bonus episodes were written and filmed during the pandemic, so they feature smaller casts with tighter, character-driven stories, exploring gaps in the narrative, taking us into the past, and pushing the story forward ahead of the supersized season 11.

Things will kick off with “Home Sweet Home,” which features the return of Lauren Cohan as Maggie. “Find Me” is an adventure for Daryl and Carol, who will star in their own series after TWD comes to an end in 2022. “Once More” follows Gabriel and Aaron as they search for supplies, while “Splinter” seems to take place after the season 10 finale when Yumiko, Princes, Eugene and Ezekiel were captured.

Moving on, “Diverged” further explores the friendship between Daryl and Carol, and the highly anticipated “Here’s Negan” teams Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan with Morgan’s real-life wife Hilarie Burton Morgan, who joins the cast as Negan’s ill-fated wife Lucille.

The new teaser gives us a brief look at Cailey Fleming as Judith, who tells someone (presumably her brother RJ) that their mother Michonne is watching them.

AMC has been very forthcoming about The Walking Dead bonus episodes, sharing exclusive sneak peeks galore. It’s a very different strategy from previous seasons, when nary a whisper was heard about the upcoming season until the new season aired. With less than 30 episodes left until the series bows out, fans welcome any and all behind the scenes content AMC is willing to share.

The new episodes of season 10 will premiere on February 28 on AMC.
