Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen are reprising their roles as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader respectively. You in, Liam Neeson?

The Star Wars prequel movies have their faults, but Liam Neeson’s portrayal of Qui-Gon Jinn is considered one of the trilogy’s biggest successes. Although Neeson only appeared in The Phantom Menace, he left quite an impression on the fanbase, and that’s why it’s so exciting that the actor would be game to return for the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series heading to Disney+.

During an interview with Collider’s Steven Weintraub, Neeson was told just how much the Star Wars fandom discusses a return for this character. “I’ll be honest with you: I haven’t heard that at all,” the actor admitted. But might he be up for giving the people what they want and appearing in the new show, which again stars Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan, in a flashback or as a Force ghost or something?

“Sure, I’d be up for that, yeah,” Neeson said. Of course, that doesn’t confirm anything, but it’s enough for us to hold onto.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set eight years after Revenge of the Sith, so it’s probably safe to say Neeson’s character wouldn’t make a comeback in the flesh. But Star Wars is notorious for bringing its characters back as Force ghosts, and Obi-Wan would no doubt need some reassurance from his Jedi mentor to cope with all he went through with his own Padawan.

Speaking of, Neeson wouldn’t be the only prequel star making a long-awaited return to the franchise. Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker in the films, will reprise his role as Darth Vader for the miniseries! Seeing Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Qui-Gon onscreen again would be the ultimate nostalgia for longtime fans. Perhaps the Force will be with us and it will come to pass.
