Outlander season 6 will show “different side” of Jamie

Sam Heughan reveals that Outlander season 6 will show a “different side” of Jamie Fraser that we have never really seen before.
Given all the delays the show has faced thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the upcoming sixth season of Outlander feels like a distant dream at this point. While some shows have been able to get back to work, Outlander has yet to start back up production, for a variety of reasons. The show’s famously steamy sex scenes are very difficult to do in the age of social distancing, as is getting the crowds of extras the show needs.
STARZ has been taking its time to make sure it makes everything as safe as possible, but that doesn’t mean we’re not getting updates. Speaking to Parade, star Sam Heughan gave us something to look forward to when discussing what’s next for Jamie Fraser:
"There is also something that surprises you as well. Every season, every episode, there is always something that you don’t expect. And I’m like, ‘Ok, that’s what Jamie’s doing. That’s who he is.’ Actually, this season from what I’ve seen of the scripts, I’m excited because I think there is another side to him you haven’t seen before."
We’ve seen Jamie as a ruthless warrior, a loving and devoted husband, a caring father, an adorable grandfather…so what’s left to uncover? Well, in the upcoming sixth season, war is on the horizon and it will be up to Jamie to lead the charge in a way he never has before. We’ve seen him as a leader time and time again, but with America’s inception on the line here, it’s going to require him to step things up, since one wrong move could mean wiping his entire family out of existence. I’d say it calls for a new side to show up.
Of course, there’s also the matter of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) getting on the path to recovery following her sexual assault last season. She’s a strong woman, but she will need Jamie’s support to get through this.
It should be quite a season, and we’re all waiting anxiously to see where the next chapter of the story takes our beloved Frasers. Until then, re-binge the series or start reading the novels the show is based on — there’s no better way to get through this Droughtlander!
