Fans of DC Comics will be able to access over 80 years of comics and graphic novels in the brand new DC Universe Infinite platform.

Goodbye DC Universe, hello DC Comics Infinite! As HBO Max becomes home for DC Entertainment’s shows, movies and animated features, DC Universe Infinite becomes the online home of DC Comics’ vast library of titles, and it’s launching this Thursday, January 21. From current releases to hard-to-find back issues, this will be the new home for Batman, Superman, Lucifer, Hellblazer and so much more.

Over 80 years of content will be available to fans immediately. Existing DC Universe members will be able to use their previous login information to join the new platform, which will feature comics and original graphic novels from DC Comics, along with DC’s Vertigo and Black Label imprints. The Milestone Media Catalogues have also been digitized and will be available as well.

The new app includes personalization options to enhance the reader’s experience. Comics and graphic novels can be downloaded for offline reading on smartphones and tablets.

Some of the hard-to-find titles available immediately include Mariko Tamaki’s Supergirl: Being Super, Brain Azzarello’s Joker and Alan Moore’s V for Vendetta.

Pam Lifford, President of Global Brands and Experiences at Warner Bros, indicated that Thursday’s launch is only the beginning for the new platform. “Our fans will have access to a rich collection of their favorite comic books and publishing while connecting with a community that loves the same DC characters and brands.”

The press release suggests that a lot of the bugs were worked out from the original DC Universe platform. When DC Universe originally launched, the platform had been home to comics, movies and shows, but with the debut of HBO Max, it needed a revamp. Now, it has been optimized for comic book readers, creating a community for fans to celebrate the characters they love.

DC Universe Infinite membership is available for $7.99 per month or $74.99 a year. The service will only be available in the United States initially, but the plan is to roll the platform out globally later this year. It’s available online at DCUniverseInfinite.com, and on iOS and Android devices.
