Former Doctor Who stars Keeley Hawes (Madame Karabraxos) and Noel Clarke (Mickey Smith) reveal what they took from the set.

Two former Doctor Who stars, Keeley Hawes (Madame Karabraxos) and Noel Clarke (Mickey Smith, Rose Tyler’s boyfriend), stopped by Graham Norton’s show recently and reminisced about their time on the show. Clarke was there when the series began its 2005 reboot and traveled with the Ninth Doctor (Christoper Eccleston) and the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant), while Hawes joined the series much later during Peter Capaldi’s time as the Twelfth Doctor.

It’s not uncommon for stars to take a piece of the show they’re starring in after they bid their final farewells. For example, on Game of Thrones, Emilia Clarke was gifted one of the Targaryen flags by her brother, who worked as a camera operator.. So, yes, everyone loves to snag something off set.

Hawes revealed that she took a little nameplate from the set emblazoned with the name of her character, a woman who had multiple clones of herself and asked the Doctor to rob a bank in season 8 episode “Time Heist.”

Clarke, on the other hand, took something with a bit more collector’s value: his very own (wearable!) Cyberman helmet. He was given it for his birthday (or so he was told) and has cherished it ever since.

If you don’t remember either of these former Doctor Who stars, it’s a good time to brush up. After all, the 60th anniversary of the franchise is only two years away. Given how elaborate the 50th anniversary episode “The Day of the Doctor” was, we can only imagine what they have in store for the next big milestone.

As for when we’ll see the next season of Doctor Who, all we know is that production has begun. Barring any delays, maybe we’ll have a new season by the end of this year.

Here’s hoping it’s sooner rather than later, especially since it looks like the Weeping Angels will be returning!
