Superman & Lois gets super-sized premiere, The Flash premiere pushed back

The CW is blocking off two hours for the series premiere of Superman & Lois, and pushing the premiere date for The Flash season 7 back a week.

The Arrowverse is coming back, led by new series Superman & Lois. It’s been a long and dreadful wait as these shows get back on their feet following the coronavirus pandemic, but the time is nigh, and The CW has the new trailer to prove it:

After getting a handful of glimpses of Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane in the crossovers, it’s finally time for this power couple to have their own show. And Deadline reports that the series premiere will be not one, but two hours along. The first 90 minutes will be the series premiere followed by a 30-minute special, Superman & Lois: Legacy of Hope, that will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the series and the first season.

Since Superman & Lois are getting an extended premiere slot on Tuesday, February 23, The CW has opted to push back the premiere of The Flash season 7 by a week; it will not premiere on Tuesday, March 2. So worry not, we’re still getting everything, with some minor adjustments.

I’m okay waiting a week for the Scarlet Speedster if it means we’re getting more of the Super family!

Superman & Lois will focus on the title characters trying to raise their family in Smallville. Compared to past Superman shows, it looks like it’s going to feel a little more real and personal, which I’m super excited for.

Meanwhile, The Flash’s seventh season has a lot of ground to cover. Between the Mirrorverse/Iris/Sue Dearbon storyline and the detour the series had to take in the wake of Hartley Sawyer being fired for misogynist and racist tweets, there’s a lot the series has to deal with. Even with Sawyer’s unexpected exit, The Flash executive producer Eric Wallace has revealed that the story of Ralph Dibny/Elongated Man isn’t quite over, and there will be at least one episode that will help wrap it up before moving on.
