The Walking Dead returns soon, with six bonus episodes that drill down on the characters. See what the show has in store!

The tenth season of The Walking Dead wrapped up last year, and the 11th and final season won’t be along for a while. In between, AMC is treating fans to six new episodes tacked onto the end of season 10, all of them filmed in pandemic conditions. These episodes will be a little smaller in scale than usual and focus more on the characters, a promising prelude to the end of this historic series.

And AMC just dropped a trailer for them! Watch below:

“Evil people aren’t the exception to the rule. They are the rule.” Glad to see the series hasn’t lost its grimdark cynicism.

We already know vaguely what the six extra episodes will be about:

  • “Home Sweet Home” revolves around Maggie, who’s returned to the group after a while away — it looks like she has a problem with Negan being out of confinement, and it’s hard to blame her.
  • “Find Me” is a Daryl-Carol duo adventure.
  • “Once More” follows Gabriel and Aaron as they search for supplies.
  • “Splinter” follows up on what happened to Yumiko, Princes, Eugene and Ezekiel in the season 10 finale, and will give us more info on the new group they met.
  • “Diverged” is another Daryl-Carol episode; you can’t have too many of those, especially now that they’re getting their own spinoff.
  • “Here’s Negan” will explore Negan’s backstory, including his relationship with his late wife Lucille (yes, he named the bat after her), played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s real-life wife Hilarie Burton Morgan.

The fun all starts on Sunday, February 28!
