Netflix has announced the cast of its upcoming epic Vikings: Valhalla original series, which takes place roughly 100 years after the events in the History Channel’s fan-favorite drama Vikings. The cast includes a wide variety of actors from all corners of the world with credits that include The Witcher, Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead.

Vikings: Valhalla is set near the end of the Viking age as Scandanavain raiders continue their siege against England.

According to creator Michael Hirst, the series will feature many of the same locations as its predecessor, and the Viking mythology will be another link that ties the two shows together:

"So whenever they meet in the great hall in Kattegat, and of course they talk about the great eras who used to sit in the same hall at the same table, and they were Ragnar Lothbrok, Lagertha, and Bjorn Ironside, and Ivar the Boneless, who are now mythic characters even within the show, even within Vikings: Valhalla. That’s a really great connection and effect. It gives ready-made histories to the new show."

Australian actor Sam Corlett might be best known for his role as Caliban on the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina series, but he has appeared in several other projects dating back to 2018.
