It looks like the core cast of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy are getting a pay raise ahead of the superhero show’s upcoming third season, which is currently in production. According to sources at Variety, Tom Hopper (Luther), David Castañeda (Diego), Emmy Raver-Lampman (Allison), Robert Sheehan (Klaus), Aidan Gallagher (Number Five) and Justin H. Min (Ben) will all be getting $200,000 per episode for the new season. Assuming season 3 will have 10 episodes like the previous seasons, that would mean a whopping $2 million for each cast member. Not too shabby, I’d say.
Variety’s sources also revealed that this group of six doesn’t include core cast member Elliot Page, who wasn’t a part of the group’s renegotiation but did receive a raise as well. Given that he was an established star when this series began, he was earning more right off the bat and is presumably still making more than the rest of the cast.
As of now, neither Netflix nor reps for the cast members have commented on the reported pay raises. But honestly, it makes a whole lot of sense given the tremendous success the show has had since it first began in 2019.
The Umbrella Academy season 3
For those of you who watched the second season, you know a lot is at stake when the series returns. After spending the entire second season trying to come together, the Hargreeves siblings were finally able to reunite in time to stop Doomsday…again. However, by doing so they found things much changed when they returned to their original time: their original headquarters was occupied by a new group of superpowered people known as the Sparrow Academy, led by their deceased brother Ben, who I don’t think considers them family anymore.
It looks like season 3 will be following the Hargreeves clan as they try to understand what has happened to their home and figure out they can fix matters.
A premiere date for The Umbrella Academy season 3 has not yet been announced, but it looks like filming is officially underway!
