Deepfake videos edit people into scenes they were never a part of. The internet is full of them, and this one is just too cool to pass up.
Youtuber Shamook is a regular creator of deepfake videos, this one of what Star Wars would look like if Solo star Alden Ehrenreich played Han Solo instead of Harrison Ford. In this one, he does the same thing for Sebastian Stan and Luke Skywalker, originally played by Mark Hamill. Stan, best known as Bucky Barnes from the Marvel Cinematic Univese, has long been a popular fan cast to play a younger Luke should Disney ever want to do something like that, and now, Shamook has made it happen:
Y’know, this is probably the closest we’ll ever come to a Star Wars/Marvel crossover.
This is the first time fans have noticed that Sebastian Stan and Mark Hamill look alike
Overall it’s a pretty solid replacement, which makes sense; the reason fans think Stan could play Luke Skywalker is because he looks like a young Mark Hamill. Watching a video like this makes it easier to compare the two.
And if seeing Sebastian Stan in Mark Hamill’s beloved role wasn’t enough for you, how about vice versa? That’s right, another YouTuber by the name of Stryder HD gives us a look at what Mark Hamill (in his younger days) would look like playing Bucky Barnes:
The two quite clearly look alike. Of course, there may be no need to find a new actor to play Luke when Disney can just use CGI to make him look longer, as it did in The Mandalorian.
Even Mark Hamill sees the likeness. A few years back, the actor acknowledged in in a tweet, jokingly declaring himself Stan’s father, kinda:
Sebastian Stan will soon return to our screens alongside Anthony Mackie in Bucky’s first-ever headlining role, which also happens to be his first television appearance in the MCU. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier airs March 19 on Disney+!
