A clip from this weekend’s new episode of American Gods, “Conscience of the King,” show us what happens when Shadow and Laura Moon reunite.

American Gods ended on a cliffhanger (well, sort of) last week as a very alive Laura Moon (Emily Browning) unexpectedly showed up in Lakeside, much to the surprise of Shadow (Ricky Whittle), who had just returned from quite the adventure himself. He was not expecting to find his dead ex-wife waiting for him.

CBR has released the first look at Shadow and Laura’s reunion in this Sunday’s new episode, “Conscience of The King.” As expected, emotions are high and Shadow is beyond confused as to how Laura is now alive. Watch below:

Naturally, Laura’s first thoughts involve killing Wednesday (Ian McShane). Back in season 2, we learned that Wednesday was responsible for her death, and therefore all the problems that followed. She explains that she wants is to put an end to Wednesday’s tyranny and prevent him from ruining more lives, especially hers.

The girl is determined, and even sacrificed her own life in the hopes that it would resurrect Sweeney (Pablo Schreiber), who would be better equipped to kill Wednesday. We all know how well that plan worked out, so now Laura is looking at other options. Obviously she’s hoping Shadow will be her savior but I’m not sure that’s how it will go down. There’s love there, but reuniting with Laura opens up a whole world of problems he’s tried to leave behind. Plus, there’s the little complication that he promised his dear father he’d join his mission to gather all the old gods to fight against the new.

Dare I say, American Gods season 3 just upped the ante. It’s about to get all sorts of crazy out here.
