Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) teams with Peacock, TikTok for Harry Potter rewatch
Draco Malfoy might have been a Harry Potter’s rival, but actor Tom Felton is a beloved member of the Harry Potter fandom and is ready to sit down and watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone for the first time. He’s never watched the first movie in the series in its entirety so why not have a Peacock Tik Tok Harry Potter watch party?.
The rewatch will take place tonight, March 2. The fun begins as Felton interacts with fans and answers questions at the pre-watch party that will be live-streamed on the Peacock Tik Tok (@PeacockTV) at 8:00 p.m. EST. From there, fans can watch the movie with Felton on Peacock, and he will provide his reactions on social media.
It’s hard to believe that Felton hasn’t seen the first film from start to finish, but then again, he made the movie 20 years ago, and the actors were always being rushed along to the next film so Warner Bros. could adapt all eight books before everyone aged out of the roles. It was a busy time.
Tom Felton is embracing Harry Potter now that he’s older
As with most franchises, filming several movies back to back can take a toll on an actor. For young actors it can be difficult to carve out a niche away from iconic roles, and Felton’s definitely qualifies. But now that some time has passed, Felton is revisiting this roles and sharing his experiences with fans.
Social media has also provided a fertile playground for actors to connect with fans. Watch parties have become a popular pastime of late, particularly during the pandemic.
Streaming services like Peacock have been able to capitalize on watch parties by enticing fans to subscribe and watch along with the cast and crew of their favorite shows and movies. It should be a lot of fun to hear what Felton thinks of Sorcerer’s Stone 20 years on.
