Take the Black: What’s with all the new George R.R. Martin projects?

facebooktwitterreddit

Suddenly, multiple studios are adapting old George R.R. Martin stories as movies. What gives? Also, reviews of WandaVision and Raya and the Last Dragon.

It’s time for Take the Black Live, where myself and Mia Johnson of Dork Side of the Force talk about the major issues of the day, so long as those issues involve space lasers or dragons or something.

First up on the docket: has anyone else noticed the preponderance of new projects based on the works of George R.R. Martin starting up production lately? And I’m not just talking about the shows that he himself is producing, although he’s doing that too. I mean there’s new adaptations coming of stories in wrote in the ’70s and ’80s. No time like the present to become a cultural touchstone:

We also discuss the news of a Superman reboot movie and review Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon, in addition to the newest episode of WandaVision.
