12. Keeping Up With The Blacks

Or Toujours Pur, this would be a mockumentary style show — think Modern Family, but set at gloomy Grimmauld Place instead of sunny California — focusing on the ancient and most noble wizarding house in England.

Matriarch Walburga Black is known to her Muggle neighbors as a vengeful haunting ghost, because even if they can’t see her, they can certainly hear her screaming at her eldest son to have some manners and take down the posters of Muggle bands from his walls. Remember, her contempt for Muggles knows no bound and she is obsessed with blood purity, so much so that she married her own cousin Orion — hey, JKR made the Black family tree, not me — a weak man happy to let her raise their children however she wants.

Walburga’s other son Regulus is easier to control than Sirius. He’s younger and more obedient and he doesn’t wish to aggravate her on purpose. Walburga also handles the education and matchmaking of her three nieces: Andromeda, who seemed to be the perfect daughter until she wasn’t and ran away with a muggle-born; Bellatrix, who shares her aunt’s obsession for blood status; and the beautiful Narcissa, who is Walburga’s pride and joy. Their parents Cygnus and Druella make frequent appearances as they come to Grimmauld Place every Sunday for supper. The rebellious Alphard also shows up occasionally. The house elves provide commentary and always tell it to the audience like it is.
