Maisie Williams (Arya) goes platinum blonde for Sex Pistols series

Maisie Williams is rocking a new platinum blonde, sky-high hairdo for her upcoming Sex Pistols series, Varys does voice work, and more news!

Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) is channeling her inner punk rocker in Danny Boyle’s upcoming Sex Pistols series. Leaked pictures of her on set have been circulating around the internet showing her transformation into the punk model Pamela Rooke, also known as Jordan.

Most noticeable about these pictures is Maisie William’s rocking new platinum blonde high-rise hairdo and pronounced wing eyeliner. Suffice to say, she looks badass, and we are so here for this.

In the leaked pictures, Williams is sporting a see-through yellow PVC coat adorned with black suspenders, stockings, and white-heeled boots. It really doesn’t get more punk rock than that, folks!

Just to give you all a brief history lesson on the person Maisie Williams is playing, Pamela Rooke was an English model and actress in the mid-1970s and was most famously known for her work with Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren and their iconic punk boutique Sex.

Rooke had attended many of the Sex Pistols’ early performances, which is why she is a big part of the series Pistol, which is based on the memoir of guitarist Steve Jones. It will be a six-part series that follows the band’s rise to fame. It’ll show us a side of Maisie Williams we haven’t seen before, but the role seems perfect for her.

While Maisie Williams lives her best punk rock dream, Conleth Hill (Varys) is lending his voice to Soothing Stories, a series of audio stories from Tourism NI, which is in charge of generating tourism for Northern Ireland. Considering that’s where Hill is from, he’s the perfect person to educate folks on the country’s history and beauty.

FYI, Northern Ireland was also the filming hub for Game of Thrones, so it’s worth visiting to see all the locations and visit the sites dedicated to the show, at least when it’s safe to travel again.

Finally, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (the Mountain) never ceases to amaze us, whether it’s with his insane workout regimens or the incredible tattoos he has plastered all over his body. His latest leg-sleeve seems like a callback to Game of Thrones, with a lion-helmeted knight that seems to be wearing the classic Jon Snow fur around the shoulders and holding an epic sword.

Then again, it could just be a coincidence, but either way, it’s cool AF!

And if it’s not a Game of Thrones tattoo, we’re sure there’s room for one somewhere.
