Leaked Star Wars video from the set of Disney’s Obi-Wan Kenobi show
By Dan Selcke
Production is ramping up on Disney’s Obi-Wan Kenobi show. Take a look behind the scenes at a very familiar-looking place.
Work is underway on a limited series all about exiled Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi, played once again by Ewen McGregor, who returns to the Star Wars galaxy after over 15 years away. Also returning is Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader as well as Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse as Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, Luke Skywalker’s adoptive parents. The cast is bringing the heat.
We don’t know when this series will be out on Disney+, but we do have a sneak peek behind the scenes courtesy of a video that started going around on Tik Tok before being picked up by Reddit and Twitter. I would tell you to beware spoilers before you watch it, but honestly there’s nothing here you wouldn’t expect:
It looks like we’re watching a security drive round the set. Naturally, the videographer set it to the cantina music from the first Star Wars movie.
Basically, all this tells us is that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will take place on the planet of Tatooine, which we knew already: after all, that’s where Luke found Obi-Wan in A New Hope. The earthen buildings and arid-looking landscape are a dead giveaway. We might even be looking at Mos Eisley spaceport, that famously wretched hive of scum and villainy.
But will the show stay there? If Darth Vader is involved, my guess is that Obi-Wan will leave the planet at some planet, but we’ll have to wait to be sure.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi show is just one of many Star Wars series Disney has in the hopper. We’re going to be swimming in this stuff before long:
