3 reasons to be excited for every Marvel series coming to Disney+
Loki
Release Date: June 11, 2021
Cast: Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson
Honestly, who isn’t excited about Loki getting his own show?
- Loki — that’s the show, not the character — stars a version of Loki who hasn’t yet learned the value of cooperation in Thor: Ragnarok, so he’s still full of mischief and a desire to assume power wherever and whenever possible. He hasn’t had his redemption arc yet, and now that the timeline is all messed up it’s possible he never will. With that in mind, this Loki is free do whatever he pleases when it pleases him, and isn’t that what fans love to see from him?
- Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson are a perfect pair. Wilson’s Mobius is in charge of keeping Loki under control as per the rules of the Time Variance Authority, but Loki isn’t one to play by the book. Hopefully Wilson will be the straight man to Hiddleston’s wild card, which should make for comedy gold.
- Could the series set up future stories for Loki? MCU czar Kevin Feige won’t give anything away, but it’s certainly possible that Loki’s story could continue in some form or another after the first season of this show wraps up, and more Loki is always a good thing.
