Rick Grimes is coming back to life in comic book series Skybound X

Rick Grimes is back! Nope, I’m not taking about the Walking Dead movies we’ve been waiting forever for, nor am I talking about Andrew Lincoln returning for the final season of the series (although we have our fingers crossed). Rather, I’m talking about the comics! To celebrate the 10th anniversary of his company, Skybound, The Walking Dead comic creator Robert Kirkman is gifting fans with a new comic series called Skybound X that will mark not only the return of Rick Grimes, but also other characters from The Walking Dead mythos, including Clementine from Telltale’s video game series.

“Surprise!” the company said in a statement. “Did you REALLY think we would let Skybound’s 10-year anniversary pass us by without bringing back some of our favorite characters? We are forever thankful for our community’s support over the past decade and are honored to share this special series with the larger Skybound family. None of these characters have such monumental journeys without the fans, so SKYBOUND X is for all of you!”

How will The Walking Dead protagonist Rick Grimes return in Skybound X?

The five-issue limited comic series will be non-canon and involve a whimsical adventure that picks up on a thread from The Walking Dead issue #75, where it was revealed that aliens were to blame for the zombie outbreak. It’s always aliens, isn’t it?

If that’s not the best way to bring back Rick Grimes, I don’t know what is.

The first issue of Skybound X will be available in comic book shops as well on digital platforms on July 7. It will run for a total of five weeks.

Next. Fear the Walking Dead won’t crossover with final Walking Dead season. dark
