1 of 7

Since Game of Thrones, Oberyn Martell went to a galaxy far, far away, Daenerys Targaryen went rom-com, and a LOT of actors got into the superhero biz.

There’s nothing more exciting for fans of a television series, than seeing your favorite performers go on to great things after their time on the show is up. Game of Thrones  launched the careers of a lot of actors currently making a mark on Hollywood. In no particular order, here’s a list of some of the biggest roles that actors from Game of Thrones have booked since their time on the show ended.

Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell) as Din Djarin on The Mandalorian

You knew this was coming. Pedro Pascal was on Game of Thrones for only one season, but as Oberyn Martell he stole the show. The Mandalorian puts him in the lead role and makes full use of his talents, even if he wears a mask the entire time.

After the let-down of the sequel movies, The Mandalorian reinvigorated the Star Wars franchise and opened up the expanded Star Wars universe now on the way. It’s also been huge for Pascal’s career. On top of starring in Narcos on Netflix, he also played villain Maxwell Lord in Wonder Woman 1984 and will the leading man in HBO’s The Last of Us (alongside fellow Game of Thrones veteran Bella Ramsey). But The Mandalorian may be what he’s most remembered for.

Pedro Pascal can do no wrong and those of us who loved him in Game of Thrones feel very proud and excited every time we see him pop up in another project.

Aquaman
JASON MOMOA as Aquaman in Warner Bros. Pictures’ action adventure “AQUAMAN,” a Warner Bros. Pictures release.

Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo) as Aquaman in the DCEU

Jason Momoa is one of the biggest stars to take off post-Game of Thrones. He’s become Hollywood’s go-to guy for playing tough, rugged warrior characters with a bad boy edge and a big heart.

Warner Bros. took a risk when it cast Momoa as Aquaman, but it paid off. His take on Arthur Curry is a million miles from the blonde all-American comic book character whose often the butt of jokes. Momoa brings his charisma to the role and enlivens whatever scene he’s in, whether it’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League or his own solo Aquaman movie, which is one of the studio’s biggest hits so far.

Momoa is also great in television series’ like Frontier and The Red Road, but Aquaman is probably his biggest part to date. Khal Drogo is out there making it happen, and I can’t wait to see what he does next.
