Emilia Clarke as Louisa Clark in Me Before You

In 2016, Emilia Clarke starred in the quirky rom-com Me Before You. She plays the quirky Louisa Clark, who is hired as a helper to William Traynor (Sam Claflin), a successful banker who suffers an accident that leaves him paralyzed from the neck down. Slowly they form a friendship and eventually a romance, with Clarke showing off a gift for light comedy she never got to use on Game of Thrones.

Emilia Clarke has had a couple of big roles outside of Daenerys Targaryen, including as Qi’ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story and as Kate in Last Christmas, another romantic comedy. Me Before You has been her most profitable hit, though. If she wanted to, she could easily become a rom-com queen.

Honorable Mention: Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) in Everything

I found it impossible to pick just one role from Dinklage’s career to put on this list. He was a fairly successful actor prior to Game of Thrones, but the show has launched him into the stratosphere. He’s done everything from Marvel movies to Oscar contenders, to has even appeared as himself in various films and TV shows since getting cast as Tyrion Lannister. Dinklage has also appeared onstage in an adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac. There’s pretty much nothing this man can’t do.
