Stranger Things season 4 will “hopefully” be out in 2022
By Dan Selcke
Stranger Things is one of several shows that’s been especially hard hit by the pandemic, with delays pushing the upcoming fourth season of the series back by months and months. Happily, things seem more or less on track now, but we definitely won’t be watching the further adventures of Eleven, Will, Dustin and the rest of the Hawkins crew as soon as we would have had the pandemic not shut down the set for a spell.
So when is the new season of Stranger Things coming out? Fans have been holding out hope that it might drop on Netflix later this year, but star Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) doesn’t sound optimistic. Answering a fan question on Fanmio, he said that season 4 “should be out sometime next year, hopefully”:
That’s not an iron-clad release date, and it sounds like he’s just making an educated guess, but Wolfhard is obviously closer to the production than any of us, and if he doesn’t think we’ll see season 4 until 2022, I’m inclined to believe him.
What happens in Stranger Things season 4?
Last year, not long before the pandemic hit, Netflix dropped a teaser for Stranger Things season 4 that let viewers know that a certain sheriff who appeared to die at the end of season 3 was, in fact, alive…and somehow in a Siberian prison:
How did Sheriff Hopper get into this predicament, and how will he get out of it? It’s starting to look like we’ll have to wait until 2022 for the answers.
