Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Closter-Waldau is Doctor Doom in new pic
By WiC Staff
Thus far, several Game of Thrones veterans have crossed over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Richard Madden (Robb Stark) and Kit Harington (Jon Snow) will both be appearing in Eternals, while Maisie Williams (Arya) and Sophie Turner (Sansa) have appeared on screen as different X-Men. Might some of their former coworkers follow?
There are certainly enough Marvel projects to accommodate them. There’s a ton of new Marvel series in development for Disney+, and that’s not to mention all the movies yet to be released. And you know there are some projects we haven’t heard about yet still in the planning stages, like the inevitable Fantastic Four reboot. Marvel’s first family has had a bumpy time of it on the big screen, but now that the film rights are back in the hands of Marvel Studios, the next movie could be the one they deserve.
And while we’re curious as to who Marvel will cast as Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch and the Thing, it’s often villain Doctor Doom who steals the show in Fantastic Four stories. Who will play him? Thecapedartist has an idea.
What Nikolaj Coster-Waldau could look like as Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four
Thecapedartist has given us an idea of what Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) would look like as this iconic villain. Check out the rendering below:
Doctor Doom made his debut appearance way back in 1962 and has since gone on to become a Marvel icon. A genius, inventor, sorcerer and dictator, Doctor Doom is the arch-rival to Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic. Any Fantastic Four movie has to include him.
And Coster-Waldau would be an excellent choice. He has the range and depth of performance to make Victor Von Doom intimidating, but sympathetic enough that he doesn’t become a caricature. Thecapedartist has rendered the character without his famous mask, revealing his scarred visage underneath.
When Disney gets around to announcing the cast for the Fantastic Four movie, they could do a lot worse than Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
