Snowpiercer veteran Chinaka Hodge will write Ironheart, an upcoming Marvel series about a young Black girl who creates her own Iron Man-like suit.

At this point we’ve seen two original Marvel TV series on Disney+: WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Both added something to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and there’s lot more where that came from. LokiShe-HulkSecret InvasionArmor Wars…there’s gonna be a lot of Marvel TV coming out over the next few years.

It might seem overwhelming, but if the studio spaces out the releases enough and gives each series room to breath, it should all work out. And the shows are all proceeding at different paces. For instance, Loki premieres in just over a month, but the Iron Man follow-up Ironheart has just now secured a writer, according to TheWrap.

Poet, educator and screenwriter Chinaka Hodge (SnowpiercerAmazing Stories) will script Ironheart, which is a about a young Black MIT student named Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), who builds her own Iron Man-like suit by reverse-engineering Tony Stark’s design.

Riri is a relatively new character in the Marvel canon who made her comics debut in 2016. Iron Man is something of a hero to her. I can imagine this show being about the legacy of Iron Man in the same way that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was about the legacy of Captain America.

There’s no release date for Ironheart yet, but like I said, there will be plenty of Marvel TV to entertain you in the meantime:
