Thanks to Boss Logic, it looks like Henry Cavill’s oft-lampooned mustache might give him the edge in a casting call if there was ever an effort to make a live action version of Invincible, Robert Kirkman’s superhero show on Amazon Prime Video. There’s no question that a mustachioed Henry Cavill would be perfect for the role of Omni-Man.

When Cavill returned for Joss Whedon’s reshoots in the heavily lambasted theatrical version of Justice League, he was working on the latest Mission Impossible movie and that meant he was under contract to keep his facial hair.

Superman doesn’t have facial hair, so the mustache had to be digitally removed for the movie. But if he ever wanted to rock the facial hair again, or if he wanted to get back into the superhero game, he’d be perfect to portray the powerful Omni-Man, who has a lot in common with Superman, but evil. You can see how great he’d look in this image.

Henry Cavill and his mustache could make a great Omni-Man

Cavill has been open to a return as the Man of Steel, but based on recent decisions at Warner Bros. it looks like they’re moving in a different direction for Superman’s future and Cavill might be hanging up the red-and-blue cape and tights for good this time.

Cavill would make a great addition to the Invincible cast. The animated version of Omni-Man is voiced by the legendary J.K. Simmons, but Cavill could easily embody the hero in a live-action version.

Invincible was given the green light for a second and third season at Amazon Prime, and while it is an animated series now there’s no telling what the future holds for Kirkman’s beloved characters. A live-action version could certainly work and would require a large cast to bring all of the characters to life.

For now, fans must be content with this concept art that provides a glimpse of what could be. Though Cavill will always be known as Superman, it wouldn’t be too hard to see him as Omni-Man, too.
