Mads Mikkelsen: Indiana Jones 5 script is “everything I wished it to be”
By Ariba Bhuvad
Mads Mikkelsen has affixed his official stamp of approval to the script for Indiana Jones 5! While speaking with Collider, he said that the script “was everything I wished it to be.” That’s quite the flattering statement, especially coming from someone as talented as Mikkelsen.
Mikkelsen has been a fan of the Indiana Jones franchise since long before he was cast in the upcoming movie. In fact, he recently rewatched 1981’s Raiders Of The Lost Ark, which he said was “such great storytelling.”
It’s still unclear what role Mads Mikkelsen will be playing in the movie, although the actor did offer some teases on that front. He believes he’s being “invited in to create a character,” saying that “everybody wants that.” If the character is up to Mikkelsen to create, then we could be in for something we’ve never seen before. This guy is a versatile actor who’s played everything from a brilliant cannibal psychiatrist to a lead engineer on the Death Star and well beyond. If anyone can “create a character,” it’s him.
Mads Mikkelsen has gotten a taste of the Indiana Jones 5 script, and he’s savoring every bite.
We’ve mainly seen Mikkelsen take on villainous roles, so it won’t come as a surprise if he keeps that up in Indiana Jones 5. He’d be a worthy foe for the adventuring archeologist.
And let’s not forget that Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge is part of this ensemble cast, which could mean we’re in for an action movie with a shading of dark humor. Would we want it any other way?
