Everyone knows that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. But he’s not the only Spider-Man in town. Since Spider-Man: Into The Spider-man landed in theaters in 2018, the profile of Miles Morales has been raised considerably, so much so that a lot of fans are asking when we might see the character in a live-action movie or TV show.

And when that happens, fans already have a good idea of who should play him. Caleb McLaughlin has charmed Netflix subscribers as Lucas on Stranger Things, and later in movies like Concrete Cowboy alongside Idris Elba. He’s moving up in the world, and at 19, is the right age to play the young, scrappy, New York City-dwelling Miles.

Fans like death.streak_art have already dreamt up what that might look like. Check it out:

Will there be a live-action version of Miles Morales?

The Spider-Man movies are in a weird place. Sony technically owns the rights to all things Spider-Man, but the big screen Spider-Man everyone knows right now — the one played by Tom Holland — is shared between Sony and Marvel Studios. In exchange for Marvel’s help on movies like Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home, Sony lets Holland’s Spider-Man appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The arrangement has had a few ups and downs, but seems to be holding steady for the moment.

But like we said, Sony owns the film rights to all Spider-Man characters who aren’t Peter Parker. That’s how we get movies like Venom and the upcoming Morbius.

That’s also how we get films like Into The Spider-Verse and it’s upcoming sequel, which is due out in 2022. Technically, there’s nothing stopping Sony from making a live-action movie with Miles Morales at its center. And if the problem is that they haven’t found the right leading man, death.streak_art can point them in the right direction.
