Check out this epic poster for House of the Dragon
By Dan Selcke
It’s early yet, but Game of Thrones fans are already making posters based on HBO’s upcoming prequel series House of the Dragon.
We won’t be watching House of the Dragon, HBO’s follow-up to Game of Thrones, until some time next year, but HBO has taken the unusual, welcome step of releasing some images from filming very early on, meaning fans have something to obsess over during the long wait.
And with images already out there, some fans have begun to create art and posters in anticipation of the marketing to come. For instance, Carlos Gonzalez took the pictures of Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint), Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) and fashioned this pretty epic-looking poster:
“Fire will reign,” indeed. The poster gives a nice sense of bleak foreboding, of which there is plenty when it comes to the Dance of the Dragons, the brutal Targaryen civil war at the heart of the story.
You can see more of Carlos’ work here.
And that’s not the only fan-made House of the Dragon poster out there:

We can expect a lot more of these as House of the Dragon takes wing.
