Henry Cavill has played Superman and Sherlock Holmes. He’s the Witcher from The Witcher, and he has a prominent role in the Mission: Impossible movies. Now, Deadline reports that he’s being eyed for a leading role in an upcoming reboot of Highlander, the 1986 fantasy film about a group of immortal beings who go around the world trying to kill each other. Why? Because “there can be only one.”

Honestly, I forget why there can be only one, or even if there was a reason at all, but I know you can’t have two. That would be foolish.

Anyway, the original movie starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown. It was a big enough hit to spawn four sequels and a mid-’90s TV series, but after that the franchise went dormant. Hollywood can’t have that, so cue the reboot and let’s get this party started.

Who is Henry Cavill playing in the Highlander reboot?

We don’t know who Henry Cavill is supposed to play in the Highlander reboot. He could be stepping into one of the roles from the original movie, or he could be playing an original character. I’m guessing some casting agent saw him in the high fantasy Witcher series and figured this was the next obvious step.

John Wick director Chad Stahelski will be helming the new movie. As for when it’ll come out, spin the wheel, cause I have no idea.

Next. Zack Snyder actually banned chairs from the Army Of The Dead set. dark
