Batman, like all superheroes, is having a resurgence. His famous rogue’s gallery is doing pretty well, too. Joker became one of the few comic book movies to make over a billion at the box office, and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn got her own movie with Birds of Prey.

We don’t know if Joaquin Phoenix will ever return as the Clown Prince of Crime, but Robbie will be back as Harley Quinn in The Suicide Squad, which comes out in August. And if she has her way, more of Batman’s enemies will eventually appear on the big screen, specifically Harley’s partner-in-crime (and sometimes in life) Poison Ivy.

“Trust me, I chew their ear off about it all the time,” Robbie said recently, talking about the WarnerMedia studio execs. “They must be sick of hearing it, but I’m like, ‘Poison Ivy, Poison Ivy. Come on, let’s do it.’ I’m very keen to see a Harley-Poison Ivy relationship on screen. It’d be so fun. So I’ll keep pestering them. Don’t worry.”

Natalie Dormer would make a great Poison Ivy

But when Poison Ivy does make it to the big screen, who should play her? Artist Jaxson Derr has an idea: Game of Thrones veteran Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell). Derr has made at least two images showing what Dormer would look like as the plant-based supervillain, and they make a good case for why WarnerMedia should give Dormer a call right this second.

Poison Ivy is a seductive villain who uses both her wiles and her scientific genius to achieve her goal making the world safe for plants…and if that means killing a lot (or even all) of people, so be it. As Margaery Tyrell, Natalie Dormer exuded the intelligence you expect from someone like Poison Ivy, and showed herself more than capable of manipulating people to get what she wanted. She’s also turned up the evil to play outright villains in shows like Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, so you know she has the range.

She would also doubtlessly play well opposite Robbie’s Harley Quinn; Dormer is one of those actors who has chemistry with just about everybody.

The last time Poison Ivy appeared in live action on the big screen was in 1997’s Batman & Robin, where she was played by Uma Thurman. The movie has a pretty lousy reputation, but hopefully that’s not scaring producers away from including this iconic character in their Bat-plans.
