A Discovery of Witches comes to AMC on June 27
A Discovery of Witches season 2 is coming to AMC on June 27, which is great news for fans who have been waiting to see witch Diana Bishop and vampire Matthew de Clairmont journey to Elizabethan London in the 1590s. The wildly popular show is making its US network television debut after premiering in the UK and on US streaming services earlier this year.
American fans have not been able to watch A Discovery of Witches season 2 unless they subscribe to horror streamer Shudder or indie streamer Sundance Now, or if they have the AMC+ bundle that includes both services. The second season of the series, based on the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness, debuted in February 2021 and now it’s finally arriving on network television.
How to watch A Discovery of Witches season 2 on AMC
A Discovery of Witches season 2 follows the story of Diana and Matthew in the second book of the trilogy, Shadow of Night. In order to give Diana time and space to learn about her magic, she and Matthew timewalk to 1590s London, where she meets with a coven who can help teach her while Matthew comes to terms with one of the darker points in his personal history.
The rest of the cast makes appearances as the show jumps between Diana and Matthew and the people remaining in the present. It’s all leading up to the thrilling series finale when the show returns for season 3 in early 2022.
AMC Networks has grown in recent years to include BBC America in addition to Shudder, IFC, Sundance and AMC. AMC is the home of big name shows like The Walking Dead and Better Call Saul, but it’s also the home of popular UK shows that need a network home after making the jump across the pond.
You can watch the second season of A Discovery of Witches season 2 starting June 27 at 7pm on AMC. The first two episodes of the 10-episode season will air back to back, and then they will air once a week at 8pm beginning the following week.
