If you’ve made it through all eight episodes of Lucifer season 5 part 2 then you know what happened to a beloved character. We’re going to discuss that major death in this article, so SPOILER ALERT for Lucifer 5B. You have been warned.

It’s never easy to lose a beloved character on a long running television show, especially when the character has been around since the beginning.

When Dan was killed in episode 515, it was shocking. After all of the cases over the years, he was about to make his escape when he was gunned down by some particularly vengeful mercenaries sent by Michael to wreak havoc.

Though utterly tragic, Dan’s death served to unify the group and bring them together to defeat Michael in the season finale. Now that Lucifer is God, he might be able to find a way to bring Dan back, even if it’s a brief appearance in season 6.

Why there’s still hope that Dan could appear in Lucifer season 6

It’s hard to imagine Kevin Alejandro missing the final season of the show, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he was listed as a director in season 6 so at the very least he’s behind the camera for the final season.

Given that Dan’s soul is currently in hell, it’s possible that Lucifer and company will launch a rescue mission to bring him to heaven where he belongs. It’s also possible that God (or Charlotte) could step in and perform a miracle to bring Dan back. (This isn’t as likely given that he was already buried, but you never know…)

Though he might not be resurrected, at least there is the possibility of a cameo in season 6. In a show that deals with supernatural elements and celestial beings, the best course of action is to never say never.

Dan might be gone from the mortal plane, but he could always come back as a ghost or spirit, and we’ll take it.
