Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) joins Colin Firth, Toni Collette and others in the HBO Max drama The Stairwell, and other Game of Thrones alum news:

Sophie Turner (Sansa) is ready to return to the world of television on the HBO Max series The Staircase, according to Variety. We last saw Turner in Survive, which premiered on the now-defunct streaming service Quibi, and is now a Roku Original. Since then, she’s been busy being a mom to her new daughter with husband Joe Jonas.

The Staircase — which stars heavy hitters like Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Parker Posey, Juliette Binoche and Rosemarie DeWitt — is an eight-episode series based on a 2018 Netflix docuseries of the same name. It follows the case of Michael Peterson (Firth), who was accused of murdering his wife Kathleen (Collette) back in 2001. He claimed she fell down the stairs, but she was found bludgeoned to death.

Sophie Turner has been cast in the role of Margaret Ratliff, one of Peterson’s adopted daughters and a huge supporter of her adopted father. It’s going to be interesting to see the story play out in the format of a drama series. Can’t wait to see it!

Turner isn’t the only Game of Thrones alum that has projects lined up in the near future. Michiel Huisman, best known for playing Daario Naharis on Game of Thrones after Ed Skrein left the role after season 3 in Game of Thrones, has some things lined up as well.

After Game of Thrones, Huisman appeared on HBO Max’s Golden Globe-nominated series The Flight Attendant. According to Variety, he’s now signed up to star alongside Luke Evans in the Apple+ thriller Echo 3.

The series has been given a 10-episode order and will be shot in English and Spanish. It tells the story of a young scientist (Amber Chesborough) who goes missing along the Colombia-Venezuela border. Michiel Huisman plays her husband, Prince, while Evans plays her brother.

Moving on, DeObia Oparei — who played Doran Martell’s bodyguard Areo Hotah — has been cast in a Netflix thriller directed by none other than the Russo Brothers, according to DeadlineThe Gray Man. He joins an already stacked cast that includes Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Billy Bob Thornton, Alfre Woodard, Regé-Jean Page and many more.

Finally, Pedro Pascal (Oberyn) was recently appointed an ambassadorship for Concha y Toro‘s flagship wine brand, Casillero del Diablo, according to Just Drinks. The company’s global marketing director, Sebastián Aguirre, said that “the selection of Pedro Pascal as the new legend is a historic event for Casillero del Diablo, as it marks our first appointment of a global brand ambassador.”

Go, Pedro!
