Hugh Jackman and Neill Blomkamp bring us Inception-y new sci-fi movies with Reminiscence and Demonic. Watch the trailers!

Everybody’s getting incepted in today’s trailers. First, Warner Bros. has released a trailer for Reminiscence, an upcoming sci-fi thriller from Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy about a private investigator (Hugh Jackman) who lives in a future where the world has gone to hell and people use advanced technology to relive the past. When a client named Mae (Rebecca Ferguson) disappears, he chases down her memories and uncovers a deadly conspiracy:

Reminiscence comes out on both HBO Max and in theaters on August 20.

Keeping with the mind-bendy stuff, District 9 director Neill Blomkamp  has a new horror movie coming out: Demonic, about a woman who accesses her dreams/memories using technology (there’s that theme again) as part of her therapy, but ends up bringing something back with her from the sunken place; something…demonic.

Demonic also comes out on August 20. So they’re gonna pit the two Inception-y movies against each other? You’re playing a dangerous game, movie studios.

And now for something completely different: a trailer for Netflix’s gonzo take on the American revolution: America: The Motion Picture, starring Channing Tatum as an action hero George Washington who takes on King James and Benedict Arnold with the help of some very loose interpretations of figures from American history:

If you’re into the whole edgy cartoon thing, America: The Motion Picture comes out on Netflix on June 30.
